Job Description


  • Position Title: Head of Section – Engineering
  • Reports to: Manager – Engineering & CWS
  • Division: Technical
  • Department: Engineering & CWS


To manage and control Engineering Section functional activities related to Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Cad Lab, and CAPEX/OPEX Projects, ensuring cost-effective engineering services that meet production needs and support corporate objectives. Oversee Project Management, including Project Execution and Cash Flow monitoring.


Project Management:

  • Lead effective implementation of engineering projects and studies.
  • Develop and implement procedures for cost-effective project sourcing.
  • Ensure proper basic engineering, scope definition, and tender strategy.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and operating plans.

People Management:

  • Lead talent development initiatives for the section.
  • Implement Qatarization program for focused recruitment and development.

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

  • Manage sectional budget preparation and monitoring.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:

  • Ensure effective implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment:

  • Comply with safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Related Assignments:

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Manager Engineering & CWS.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in Engineering & Projects at the Senior Level.
  • Manufacturing/steel industry experience preferred.
