Job Purpose :
The Planner is responsible for managing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities across the plant to ensure the smooth functioning of equipment and systems. This role involves the identification and procurement of necessary spare parts, updating technical documentation, and ensuring the availability of resources to execute maintenance work effectively. The Planner will convert work requests into actionable work orders, manage the booking and issuance of spares, and track the progress of maintenance activities. Additionally, the role involves the preparation of maintenance plans, including preventive maintenance and shutdown plans, and ensuring that all activities comply with safety and quality standards. By effectively managing resources and materials, the Planner ensures that maintenance work is carried out on time, within budget, and in alignment with operational goals, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the plant’s operations.
Job Responsibilities :
- Create work orders from all existing work requests and book necessary maintenance spares and consumables. Schedule work orders based on resource availability and specific operating standards.
- Develop Preventive Maintenance Plans for critical equipment using eAM as per the guidelines from the concerned section.
- Create shutdown work orders and book necessary spares and consumables. Initiate procurement for scheduled shutdowns.
- Follow up on open work requests for approval and execution.
- Create work orders for monthly consumables and manage requests for material issues.
- Process internal requisitions for safety apparel, consumables, and tools.
- Ensure timely delivery of requested spares from the Central Warehouse and ensure goods are securely stored.
- Generate requests for new item code creation and update element values for existing items.
- Create purchase requisitions for maintenance spares, shutdown plans, codified items, insurance items, and capital project items based on approved CAPEX budgets.
- Prepare technical evaluations in the ERP system after receiving offers against purchase requests.
- Manage technical clarifications with vendors as part of the evaluation process.
- Conduct joint inspections with the end user and CWH, as required, for specific items received in the warehouse.
- Issue spares from the warehouse and ensure timely follow-up on scheduled maintenance activities. Return excess material to the warehouse and close work orders.
- Ensure that all safety, environmental, and quality procedures are followed to maintain operational integrity.
- Follow HSE rules and report any concerns or incidents to the responsible personnel.
- Verify the quantity and tag unused spares in coordination with end users.
- Follow up with buyers for timely dispatch of ordered materials and coordinate logistics for delivery.
- Collect data and specifications for new spare parts to support diversification initiatives.
- Prepare ACIRS forms for insurance/rebuildable spares as required.
- Establish long-term contracts and manage releases with the warehouse.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications : Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. .
Minimum Experience : 3-5 years of relevant work experience in maintenance planning.
Job Specific Skills :
- Established skills in computer systems and knowledge of Oracle (eAM-CMMS).
- Experience varies by trade, equipment, process, and industry requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of plant, equipment, and processes in the relevant area.
- Knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
