Job Position : Repairman – Water & Gas Maintenance
Location : Saudi Arabia
Contract : 2 Years
Job Purpose :
To maintain and restore the plant utilities equipment systems to achieve optimal plant availability and production quality at minimal maintenance cost. Responsibilities include planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance, installation, repairing, overhauling, fabrication, and equipment testing to ensure functionality in compliance with operating standards.
Job Responsibilities :
Technical Operations :
- Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance, including lubrication, alignment, and inspection of utility equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot and analyze faulty equipment.
- Record equipment readings, daily conditions, and maintenance data for analysis and logging.
- Assess defects/issues and decide on repair or replacement of utility equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Dismantle and install specialized pipelines (GRP, PVC, FRP).
- Execute temporary and permanent repairs as required.
- Measure parts using tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Respond to emergency situations on extended hours or call-off basis.
- Identify, report, and address equipment discrepancies in consultation with senior technicians.
- Operate vehicles and forklifts for equipment transportation and material shifting.
- Maintain HSE safety standards, conduct fire drills, and address environmental audit issues.
- Perform routine maintenance, report major repairs to supervisors, and coordinate with the electrical maintenance team.
- Communicate with next-shift repairmen for effective handovers.

- Follow relevant departmental policies, LOTO procedures, and operating standards for uninterrupted utility supply.

- Comply with safety, quality, and environmental management policies.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and proper tool arrangement.
Related Assignments :
- Perform other duties as directed by the line manager.
Qualifications : Technical Diploma (Mechanical/Metallurgy) from a recognized institution.
Minimum Experience : 3–4 years of relevant experience in a steel plant.
Job Specific Skills :
- Proficient knowledge of utility rotating and static equipment.
- Expertise in utility equipment maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with gas (natural, oxygen, nitrogen) and compressed air pipelines.
- Knowledge of cooling tower maintenance.
- Ability to maintain various types of valves.
- Basic fabrication and installation skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and P&ID.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and work environment.
