Kyrgyzstan Is Building Like Never Before — But There’s Nobody to Build
Kyrgyzstan’s construction sector grew 45% in 2025, but over 876,000 Kyrgyz citizens have left to work abroad. Employers desperately need workers — but there are none.
In April 2026 the Cabinet of Ministers raised the foreign worker quota from 52,000 to 100,000. Pakistani workers already make up 25% of the entire foreign workforce in Kyrgyzstan.
One permit for stay and work — reviewed in up to 7 working days
Since 1 May 2026 the single permit covers both stay and work, and the documents for employing foreigners are processed and issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 2026 quota is 100,000.
