Position Title: Senior Field Quality Engineer
Reports to: Field Superintendent / Project Quality Manager
Job Purpose:
The Senior Field Quality Engineer ensures that all quality management aspects of oil and gas projects are effectively implemented and monitored. This role oversees the development and execution of quality plans, procedures, and inspection processes, ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications.
Key Accountabilities:
Quality Management:
- Prepare, implement, monitor, revise, and update the Quality Plan.
- Develop and monitor Contract Specific Quality Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Review and monitor the implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Audit internal and external activities, follow up, and close out Corrective Actions.
- Review, verify, and close out all product non-conformities.
- Manage day-to-day quality activities, including control, supervision, and implementation of Contract quality and technical requirements.
Project Oversight:
- Perform duties of Project Quality Manager, overseeing overall quality activities.
- Liaise with the Company on quality matters and provide advice to project teams, Contractors, and third parties.
- Ensure consistent application of Project Quality processes.
- Prepare detailed weekly Quality reports and attend project meetings.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Review Completion Dossiers (MCD) to ensure compliance with SOP requirements.
- Report and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for construction methods and quality issues and update the NCR register.
- Control and monitor Punch List & Job Completion system, including registering new project punch lists, tracking and monitoring punch list closeouts, and tracking Job Completion Certificates.
Supervision and Coordination:
- Supervise quality management activities and review the performance of Sub-suppliers’ Quality Management Systems.
- Assist in reviewing Construction Contractor/subcontractors Quality deliverable requirements and attend site Quality meetings.
- Provide advice and support to ensure understanding of project quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Civil Engineering.
Certification:
- Registered/Certificated Lead Assessor with IRCA, RABQSA, or equivalent (evidence of equivalence required).
Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in oil and gas projects.
- At least 2 years of management experience in quality management systems, including developing and implementing quality systems, quality plans, work procedures, and inspection plans.
- Experience in quality management across design/engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Supervisory skills with technical knowledge of inspection in multi-discipline oil and gas construction.
- Familiarity with relevant codes used in the oil and gas industry.
- Preferably familiar with Flawless Project Delivery (FPD) and Technical Integrity Verification (TIV) practices.
