The occupation printed on the work visa and work permit, chosen from the Saudi occupational classification published by HRSD (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development). Each has a six-digit code and an official Arabic name. Saudi labour rules expect the actual work to match the permitted profession.
Under HRSD’s Professional Accreditation Program, professions in occupational groups 1 to 3 (managers, professionals, technicians) go through Professional Verification: the qualification and experience are checked against the profession’s requirements, including the level and field of study.
For occupational groups 4 to 8 and some group 9 jobs (trades, operators, service roles), workers pass a skills verification test. In Pakistan it is taken at an approved test centre before the visa. It is separate from qualification verification and from professional registration.
Engineers and engineering technicians register with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE); health workers register with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). A title such as “manager” or “specialist” does not remove this. SCE’s published conditions ask for at least five years’ experience for non-Saudi engineers; IMP confirms the current rules for each case.
Family residence lets the employee’s spouse and children receive residence permits and live in Saudi Arabia; it depends on the profession and other conditions. A family visit visa is temporary. Whether the employer pays for housing, tickets or dependent fees is a separate matter for the job offer.
