Position Title: Field HSE Manager

Reports to: Regional HSE Director / Project Manager

Job Purpose:

The Field HSE Manager is responsible for overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices across sites, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards. This role involves providing HSE advice, conducting audits, and leading safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment in the oil & gas and energy sectors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • HSE Management:

    • Provide Health, Safety, and Environmental advice and training for both office and site personnel, focusing on construction activities.
    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of legal obligations, industry standards, and best practices in HSE, communicating changes effectively.
    • Develop and implement risk management systems and ensure compliance with ISO45001 and 14001 standards.
  • Audits and Inspections:

    • Conduct legal compliance audits, site inspections, and investigations to ensure adherence to HSE regulations and company policies.
    • Contribute to the continual improvement of the HSE audit system and report on trends identified during internal audits.
  • Support and Guidance:

    • Provide support and guidance on compliance with global HSE management systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Assist in external audits and certifications, and support corporate HSE management-led incident investigations.
  • Regional and Corporate Initiatives:

    • Engage with regional management to support HSE practices and lead a network of HSE representatives.
    • Develop and coordinate corporate HSE improvement programs and support regional offices with environmental initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Requirements:

    • Diploma, degree, or certificate in Health & Safety or relevant industry experience.
    • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • IEMA foundation certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HSE within the oil & gas and energy industry.
    • Experience in site risk management, developing risk management systems, and conducting audits.
  • Skills and Knowledge:

    • Competence in site risk management and maintaining legally compliant risk controls.
    • Technical knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental disciplines.
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies such as IOSH, IIRSM, and IEMA.
    • Oman nationals preferred.
  • Certifications:

    • Lead Auditor (ISO45001 / ISO14001) desirable but not essential.
    • Experience with environmental management and compliance.
