Position Title: Field Operations Readiness Engineer
Reports to: Operations Manager / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
The Field Operations Readiness Engineer is responsible for ensuring that operations requirements are effectively integrated into project designs and that the facilities are prepared for smooth commissioning and start-up. This role involves providing input on operational requirements, reviewing plant designs, and participating in the development of operational procedures. The Field Operations Readiness Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that facilities are ergonomic, functional, and fit-for-purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Requirement Integration:
- Provide operations requirements into the project in accordance with industry standards (OPMG, OR&A Global Process).
- Detail operations requirements into design documentation including PEFS, P&ID, HAZOP, SAFOP, and IPF.
Design Review and Optimization:
- Participate in reviews of plant design to ensure it meets ergonomic, functional, and operational standards.
- Contribute to innovative studies and activities to address operability, maintainability, and integrity issues.
Best Practices and Procedure Development:
- Apply best practices in the detail design phase to ensure operational procedures are developed and maintained in a timely manner.
- Ensure that operations procedures align with industry best practices.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Culture:
- Actively participate in and promote company occupational health, safety, security, and environmental culture.
- Ensure adherence to HSE standards and practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Requirements:
- Degree in Process Engineering or Bachelor of Science in a relevant field.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in upstream/midstream/downstream commissioning, start-up, and operations.
- Experience with large and medium-sized capital projects, including commissioning and start-up phases.
- Exposure to operation and maintenance of wells and facilities, asset performance analysis, development concepts, HSE management, and project management.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with sour hydrocarbon operations and management.
- Strong understanding of plant design, operational requirements, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical information clearly.
