1. JOB DETAILS:
- Position Title: Engineer – Gas & DR Water Treatment Operation
- Reports to: Head of Section
- Business Function: Technical
- Department: Utilities
2. JOB PURPOSE: Identify and deploy technical improvement opportunities in the utility process to ensure uninterrupted utilities supply to the production process. Provide technical leadership and support to Gas/DR utilities operations, preventing technical difficulties, and resolving problems in a timely manner.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Management:
- Oversee, design, and propose technical improvements for Gas & Direct Reduction plants’ utilities processes.
- Verify monthly/annual utility consumption bills and make payment advice to Finance Department.
- Implement engineering skills to solve technical & utilities operation problems, ensuring uninterrupted utilities supply.
- Prepare and propose annual operation Opex budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure budget adherence.
- Develop continuous improvements of operating standards and procedures for Gas and DR Utilities supply plants.
- Collaborate in the preparation of tender specifications, tender evaluation, engineering, and review of drawings for projects.
- Coordinate with external parties on technical issues to minimize potential operational disruptions.
- Implement standard engineering modifications/upgradations to achieve optimum solutions to technical problems.
- Prepare monthly Natural Gas Forecast & Oxygen and Nitrogen demand according to production plans.
- Coordinate technical correspondence with other departments, external suppliers, and agencies.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, health, and environmental management policies.

6. CONTEXT, WORK ENVIRONMENT & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
- Key decisions with a significant impact on the Utilities department are referred to the Utilities Head of Section for approval.
- Job holder exercises financial authority as per the level established by the company board.
7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering or B-Tech in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from a reputable university.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 06 ~ 08 years of experience in the integrated steel plant utilities process operation, especially DR Plant Utilities.
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
- In-depth skill & knowledge in Utilities gases supply (Natural gas, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon), Compressed air Station, and Cooling water treatment plant of Direct Reduction Plants/Process operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of DR water treatment process & equipment’s.
- Good knowledge of financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- Good knowledge and understanding of process calculations and computations.
- Strong conflict management, facilitation, and resolution skills.
- Excellent use of English (must) and excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documents.
- Planning and organizing skills.
