Position Title: Senior Field Commissioning Engineer

Reports to: Commissioning Manager / Project Manager

Job Purpose:

The Senior Field Commissioning Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and overseeing the commissioning, start-up, and initial operations of large and medium-sized capital projects in the oil and gas and energy sectors. This role ensures that equipment and systems are properly installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with technical specifications and engineering standards. The position demands strong communication skills, team collaboration, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support and System Walk-downs:

    • Provide technical support for the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
    • Review technical documentation, conduct equipment checks, perform system tests, and prepare test reports to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Compliance and Standards:

    • Ensure adherence to engineering procedures, international codes, standards, and approved codes of practice.
    • Support operations through all phases of commissioning, start-up, and initial operations.
  • Interface and Coordination:

    • Interface with the EPC Commissioning Lead and contractor commissioning teams to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
    • Prepare and update start-up/operating procedures and ensure compliance with Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning procedures.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Culture:

    • Actively participate in and promote company occupational health, safety, security, and environmental culture.
    • Attend and contribute to pre and post start-up HAZOP/HAZIDs and SIMOPS meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Requirements:

    • Degree in Process Engineering or Bachelor of Science in a relevant field.
  • Experience:

    • 8-12 years of experience in upstream/midstream/downstream commissioning, start-up, and operations.
    • Experience with large and medium-sized capital projects, particularly in commissioning and start-up phases.
  • Skills and Knowledge:

    • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
    • Effective team player with excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
    • Proficiency in PC literacy and relevant software tools.
