Supervisor Field Civil Construction

Position Title: Field Civil Construction Supervisor

Reports to: Field Superintendent

Job Purpose:

The Field Civil Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing the performance of field staff on a variety of construction projects, ensuring that all civil engineering activities are completed according to design specifications and project requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

• Project Management:

  • Supervise civil contractors during construction activities.
  • Ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
  • Monitor civil activities and ensure adequate contractor resources are allocated.

• Technical Coordination:

  • Liaise with engineering and project management teams to verify project design accuracy.
  • Coordinate with site teams and engineers to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Verify contractor’s surveying, ROW clearance, pipe-stringing, and related activities.

• Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance Engineer to implement the Project QA/QC Plan.
  • Ensure construction activities are documented and adhere to quality standards.
  • Review and comment on contractors’ planning related to civil activities.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety standards and resolve on-site issues.
  • Report progress and any potential slippages to supervisors.
  • Handle all aspects of Civil Construction activities, including maintaining daily records and preparing punch lists for completed work.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate as-built drawings and timely reporting of progress versus contractor’s programs.
  • Maintain daily records and special reports noting work anomalies or deviations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum Qualifications:

  • A National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • Training in Six Sigma Methodologies.

• Minimum Experience:

  • At least 12 years of international experience in civil engineering and construction activities within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in onshore, remote, and harsh environments with challenging logistical issues.

• Job-Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of civil engineering activities and construction processes.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple departments and manage contractor performance effectively.
