Position Title: Field Electrical / Cathodic Protection Supervisor

Reports to: Field Superintendent

Job Purpose:

The Field Electrical / Cathodic Protection Supervisor oversees the installation, inspection, and commissioning of electrical and cathodic protection systems. This role ensures compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements, providing technical support and supervision for effective project execution.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Technical Support and Oversight:

    • Provide technical support for electrical and cathodic protection systems, including pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
    • Review and approve Electrical & Cathodic Protection designs, including specifying anode types, rectifier locations, and other design features.
    • Generate FAT/SAT/Commissioning reports for technical reviews.
  • Project Management:

    • Supervise electrical construction and installation, ensuring all work meets approved procedures and drawings.
    • Review project specifications, installation procedures, and method statements before work begins.
    • Supervise electrical contractors and ensure proper execution of construction activities.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Monitor and review construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
    • Report progress and potential slippages to the Head of Construction.
    • Prepare punch lists for finished work and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce safety standards and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Liaise with the QC Inspector and HSE Supervisor on quality and safety-related matters.
    • Handle all aspects of electrical construction activities and address any issues or deviations promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records of progress and daily activities.
    • Report main issues, site events, progress trends, and recommendations for improvement to the Company Construction Manager.
    • Participate in the development of as-built drawings and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum Experience:

    • At least 15 years of experience as an Electrical / Cathodic Protection Supervisor in oil and gas industries.
    • On-the-job training in installing electrical and/or cathodic protection systems and related technical training courses.
  • Job-Specific Skills:

    • Proficiency in supervising electrical construction and installation.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical and cathodic protection system design and implementation.
    • Ability to handle all aspects of electrical construction activities.
