Position Title: Field Instrumentation / SCADA / Telecom Supervisor
Reports to: Field Superintendent
Job Purpose:
The Field Instrumentation / SCADA / Telecom Supervisor oversees the construction, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation, SCADA, and telecommunications systems. This role ensures compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements while providing technical supervision and support.
Key Accountabilities:
Technical Oversight:
- Supervise the construction and installation of instrumentation, SCADA, and telecommunications systems.
- Review and approve all instrumentation, SCADA, and communication construction works, ensuring adherence to approved procedures and drawings.
- Review and verify project specifications, installation procedures, ITP, and method statements before starting work.
Project Management:
- Coordinate and participate in the maintenance and enhancement of process automation and network functionality.
- Engineer, install, upgrade, configure, integrate, and maintain process automation and information networks, including PLCs, SCADA, I/O networks, HMIs, servers, virtual machines, web servers, workstations, printers, and routers.
- Supervise instrumentation, SCADA, and communication contractors during construction activities at the site.
Quality Assurance:
- Report progress and potential slippages to the Head of Construction.
- Maintain a daily record of progress and note any anomalies or contractual deviations.
- Prepare punch lists for finished work and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety standards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Liaise with the QC Inspector on quality-related matters and with the HSE Supervisor on safety-related matters.
- Handle all aspects of instrumentation, SCADA, and communication construction activities, resolving any issues on the spot.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Report main issues, site events, progress trends, and recommendations for improvement to the Company Construction Manager.
- Participate in the development of as-built drawings and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Telecommunications, or Information Technology and Telecommunications Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the Oil & Gas industry, working with PMC, EPIC/EPC contractors, or Operating Companies.
- Strong technical skills in instrumentation, SCADA, and telecommunications systems.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Experience in operations, maintenance, and project pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over activities.
- Ability to supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with project schedules.
